An ordinary day in the life of.....

Its morning time. We all woke up around 8:30

The boys played in the room, but I was still very sleepy so I rested for a while longer.

Trust me, I did this like 5 other times during the day. This is the only picture I took.

Hey, I had to take a shower. Veggie Tales it is.

Yay! Outside time!!!

Lincoln playing with the froggies.

We went to the neighbors to see the chickens. They scared the crap out of us at the end, watch this video.

Lunch Time.
Cool new play-doh set!
 Nap and a movie.

Who can guess what that is I am about to put on his butt? Here is a hint, I think he has a yeast infection.

Love this picture.

Lincoln played superhero for a little while. He would jump off the bed and fly in the air!
Reading our books before bedtime. We read four every night and he gets to pick out which four.

We had a wonderful, ordinary day. I am not a structured kind of woman (except for our bedtimes, those are very regular now). I like to go with the flow, learning with everything we do for the day. I am so happy that I have this time with my boys and I will never forget it, because I know I will not be able to stay home with them forever. Even though we are not in "our" home. We are a family here. The boys and I miss Zack and talk everyday about trying to find a home in winston-salem so we can all four be living together again.

I love seeing Lincoln's sense of adventure and amazement with the world, and how Asher just watches his brother in everything. Love these boys, loved this day.

Swimming Summer

We have had a super fun summer so far, with lots and lots of swimming being done. Lincoln is becoming quite a pro in the water, and Asher just loves to splash around. Check out all the swimming we have done so far, and summer is only half-way through!

Accidental first food!

Asher just accidentally tried his first food! A strawberry. I gave him one to gum on to soothe his toofers, and he figured out how to nosh a chunk off it!!!! :) He was pleasantly surprised, and so was I. Pics coming soon. Asher is 6 months and two weeks old, and is quite a little chunky monkey living off breastmilk alone. Excited for this new chapter in his life...introducing solids, but we are going to take it slow. He is doing just fine on his own.

My sister, the bride.

My beautiful sister, Katie, got married last weekend. It was such a fun, gorgeous wedding. I am over the top proud of my little sis.
I knew I would cry during the wedding. Seeing her walk down the aisle. Seeing my dad give her away to be married. But I did not know that I would feel so completely emotionally connected with my sister on that day. Literally every time she shed a tear I was there crying too. Before the wedding, I could sense when she was getting overwhelmed or anxious, and I was there to help calm her down. It was a special day for me too. Being that rock for her on the day that would change her life forever. I will never forget it.

I am so happy that she got this wedding. It was so perfect for her. It was all I envisioned she should have on her big day marrying the man of her dreams. I had some moments that were especially hard for me. I did not have a wedding of my own, per say. I just got married in the mayors office, which is fine. I did not have my dad there to lift my veil and give me away. I did not have all my brothers and sisters and close family present to be there an support me. All these decisions were mine, and I can not go back in time to change them. But I will cherish this day that Katie had.  She is my sister, and she deserves the best..... And she got it!
I wanna thank all the family that helped katie have her special day! Kate, Dad and Mom, All the grandparents that pitched in here and there. You guys rock! Can not believe my little sister is a wife, now. WHEW!

North Carolinians again!

We are back in the good ole state of NC. It feels weird right now, probably because I am still on vacation in the outer banks, but to know I am not returning to live in my home in Ohio is such a strange feeling. I am sad, but excited for the future and something new in our lives.

I cried for a good two hours straight on my drive down here. Sobbed into my pillow, literally. I guess it was just so final, and so difficult to say goodbye to the house that means so much to me. I have lived there for 6 years just about, and my memories in that house will be with me forever.
